Wollman's Classics, a collection of antique prints featuring exquisite steel and copper engravings and chromo and stone lithographs, evolved from Ben Wollman's 20 year hobby of researching and hunting for art of rare and distinctive quality.
Out of another time, the prints in the collection were created before the advent of modern printing presses and mass reproduction. These antique prints spoke the message in their day with the quiet intracy of hand crafting and coloring and delicate printing techniques.
Rare from their inception, because of the limited number of prints which could be made from limestone, copper and other now extinct methods of engraving, many of these classic prints were collector's items in their own time. Most of the prints are dated and continue to increase in value because they are either one of a kind or one of a very few to be found.
Today, Wollman's Classics antique print collection defies the passage of time with an enduring appeal to those with an appreciation for rare and distinctive art. The collection includes thousands of antique prints crafted from such masters as Audubon, Jardine, Prang and Smit. The subject matter spans the most varied of interests and tastes and is comprehensive enough to provide the perfect selection for almost any decor.
